4th of July

Category

If you’ve read our Top 5 Entertaining Tips and Tricks,  you know how much I absolutely love to display our chinoiserie ginger jars as part of our summer tablescape! I love how bright and classy they look, plus they gives our dining room a little pop of color.

Because I’m absolutely OBSESSED with these ginger jars right now, I knew I had to incorporate them into my 4th of July table. With just a few small changes we completely transformed our summer tablescape look and created this patriotic design ideal for the 4th of July!

We used the perfect mix of red, white and blue through the jars, florals, American flags, napkins and tablerunner and paired it with our woven charger plates and favorite china to create a sophisticated yet approachable 4th of July look! This is perfect for an indoor seated dinner or an al fresco BBQ. You can find all the details in the Shop the Post link below!

Happy 4th!

We’d love to thank Laurie Louis Design for sponsoring this post. While products were supplied for this post, all opinions are my own.

Searching for the perfect baby shower idea to celebrate the mother-to-be in your life? Drop anchor and settle in for our nautical baby shower brunch co-captained by our friends at Laurie Louis Design!

I’m thrilled that this brunch was our maiden voyage at our new house (that finally has a real dining table!) and am absolutely swooning over the nautical theme with a southern, beachy and classic flair.

Jump on in, the water’s great!

This baby shower screamed summer prep with our red, white and blue party decor from Laurie Louis Design, which we paired with some of our favorite nautical lanterns, ship wheels, fishing net, and, of course, life ring buoys! Laurie specializes in custom and southern-inspired stationery and gifts, so I knew that there was no better way to bring our vision to life for this nautical brunch than with some of her custom decor – especially her crab themed line, which helped pull this entire party together!

The invitation sets the style and mood for every party, so it had to be a stand out! We loved creating this adorable “Ahoy It’s a Boy” invitation using Laurie’s designs.

This Red, White, and Blue Sangria is the perfect refreshing cocktail to serve at any patriotic gathering this summer! It’s light, it’s fresh, and most importantly, it’s sweet!

The Everyday Hostess and Swoozies 25

With the Olympics in full swing, this fruity beverage has been a staple in our household and is perfect for your Olympic parties this week! Plus it is super simple to make!

Just pour Chardonnay, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and white grape juice in a large pitcher and chill for 2 hours. If you want your beverage to really have the USA written all over it, cut an apple into thin slices and use a star shaped cookie cutter to add little stars to your cocktail. I found my baby cookie cutter at Sur la Table but most cooking specialty stores will carry them. Then when you are ready to serve just stir in the champagne and apple slices!

What sometimes gets forgotten about Memorial Day is that it’s dedicated to remembering those who died serving our country.  So first and foremost, a sincere thank you to our service men and women as well as our veterans.

But, as American culture would have it, it’s also one heck of a time to throw an outdoor dinner party that your friends and family will never forget!

My friend Amanda from Glitter and Spice and I styled the most adorable Memorial Day dinner party to help celebrate the holiday, the warm weather, and the start of summer for a few of our close friends! It was the absolute epitome of patriotic with red, white, and blue everywhere, plus a few bursts of gold!

The Everyday Hostess Memorial Day Party Invitation from Kayla Zimba

To create a classy and patriotic look, we started with a simple white table cloth and adorned it with a navy and white striped runner, the cutest gold sparkly chargers, white beaded place settings and festive red napkins. The T Shop designed a beautiful arrangement of red and white flowers in our favorite gold vases from The Shabby Chic Party to pull the entire look together!
